Vice-President of Peking University

Returned in 1946, he served as professor at Beijing University and Head of Department of Oriental Language and Literature.Was elected in 1956, aims at the Chinese Academy of Philosophy and Social Studies.In 1978, appointed Vice-President of Peking University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University jointly organized by South Asia Institute.Grouped under the Institute in 1984, he was named South Asia, Southeast Asia director of the Institute of Peking University.He served as president of the Chinese Institute of Foreign Literature, China South Asia Society, China National Institute of ancient writing, honorary president of Society of Chinese Language.
